Summary

Effective 2026-02-01, contracting officers must use revised Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 24 and Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS) Part 224 in place of the codified text. These replacements implement the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul (RFO) by removing provisions not required by statute or essential to sound procurement. The deviation remains in effect until rescinded or incorporated into the FAR, DFARS and DFARS Procedural Guidance and Instructions.
